Ellie + Jake’s Moonta Bay Wedding

We get tonnes of real wedding submissions from talented Adelaide wedding photographers each week. Do you know what stands out from the crowd? It’s not the most obviously expensive wedding, or the one that features the most on-trend details. The weddings that catch our eye are the ones that clearly tell a story of who the couple is. The ones that express individuality; making us feel like we know this couple without ever having met them.
That’s why we’re bringing you Ellie and Jake’s delightful Yorke Penninsula wedding. Their personalities, their individuality and their love shines right out of these photos. From the abundant native florals to their stunning outfits and the wedding transport, this wedding just screams ‘Ellie and Jake!’
There was a butterfly release, fur baby Gus acted as ring bearer and the couple’s youngest daughter Haliah stole the show when she walked down the aisle ahead of her mum.
We get the feeling this wedding could only have been dreamed up by this couple, and in our eyes there’s nothing more special than a personalised reflection of your love. We’ll let Lucinda May Photography’s amazing images speak for themselves…

Sustainable Adelaide Wedding Styled Shoot Inspiration

Sustainable Adelaide Wedding Styled Shoot Inspiration

Are you mid-way through your wedding planning and things are starting to feel a little… wasteful? If you’re pretty eco-friendly in your day to day lives, weddings can throw up a multitude of purchases, stuff and less-than-earth friendly things your way (we’re talking to you, non-biodegradable confetti!) that may not sit with your values. Enter some amazing local suppliers who got together to create this sustainable wedding shoot for you to enjoy – we think you’ll agree that it’s not lacking in all the beautiful things we’ve come to expect from a wedding, while not sacrificing the environment! Bonnie, from local florist Bonnie Blooms, explains the desire to educate and inspire couples on their own sustainable wedding journeys:
“My deep dive into the world of flowers during the last year has opened my eyes more than ever to the environmental issues we face and my responsibility to do something about them. After learning about the waste, damage to the environment and ethical issues involved in mainstream floristry, it was a natural decision as I started my business to work with locally grown, seasonal flowers, and to never use floral foam (a toxic, non-biodegradable plastic)”, says Bonnie.
“The gowns worn by Sharayah, our bride, were designed and sustainably manufactured here in Adelaide by Calèche using natural and sustainable fabrics (including pineapple organza!). Sam’s suit was made of linen. The grazing platter and cake were made up of local ingredients and produce, the wine was organic and coffee beans were locally roasted and ethically sourced. Other details included locally made pottery for the table setting, hand-made linen details, hand-made fabric jewellery and groom’s accessories, eco-friendly and biodegradable confetti, and of course, locally grown, seasonal flowers and foliage.”
We hope you love the shoot and get some ideas of how easy it can be to incorporate more environmentally friendly options into your own wedding! Get in touch with the vendors listed below who will be more than happy to help you!
