We have been dying to feature a wedding at the stunning Kingsford Homested in the Barossa, and this beauty from Goldlight Photography doesn’t disappoint! Judith and David met whilst travelling around Europe in 2010. Isn’t it amazing how you always stumble across a fellow Aussie wherever you’re travelling throughout the world? Well, she was from Sydney and he was from Adelaide so after a year or so of long distance, Judith made the switch and became an honorary South Aussie. After a proposal on the beach in the rain, Judith and David started planning their modern, elegant nuptials. They’ve always loved visiting the Barossa together, and seeing Kingsford Homestead, with it’s rolling hills and classic elegance meant the venue decision was a no-brainer. This was no stuffy black tie formal affair, these two brought the fun and vibrancy to their day with pops of rich natural tones everywhere and some killer dance moves which even resulted the groom splitting his pants once the party got started! Judith and David rave about a number of their suppliers, including Alexis from Goldlight Photography who perfectly captured their day. “The photos she captured of us as a couple, our friends and family were just perfect, she truly went above and beyond and we could not rate her more highly,” says Judith. Scroll on for some truly fun inspiration and the full list of amazing vendors that shaped this wedding!
Marriage to us means a lifetime devotion with your best friend. Nothing will change our relationship; we will still love each other more and more each day as husband and wife as we did as boyfriend and girlfriend.
Love and romance might not be the first things that come to mind when you think of motor sports. Let’s keep an open mind though, because after seeing the edgy-meets-romantic style of this unique styled shoot you might just be headed to the nearest racetrack to say ‘I do’. Featuring a great line up of local South Aussie suppliers and some outside the square styling ideas, we think this shoot will have you crushing on a revved up wedding in no time.
When the family property is Adelaide Hills fave Barrister’s Block, you’re probably not going to have to look to far for the perfect wedding venue. As Locky says: “There was never any doubt we would get married anywhere else – it had to be Barrister’s Block. It was special because that’s where we met but also because it is a family business and Mum in particular has worked so hard to make it into the amazing wedding venue and cellar door it is now. It was really special to host everyone there and celebrate with them all.” Hold up – these guys met at Barrister’s Block too? Yep! Ash was heading out for a day of fun at Barrister’s for Crush Festival, and spied Locky working hard at the cellar door. They had a drink together after he knocked off and clicked straight away. Timing, as they say, is everything, and two weeks after they met, Locky was off on a round-the-world trip! “[It was] the realisation that Locky was going on holiday for four months that made us aware each other was the one,” says Ash. “We spoke everyday while he was away and we both knew we’d met someone special.” This wedding has a combo black-tie / garden party vibe, with the couple wanting that special feeling that comes from everyone getting dressed up while maintaining a party atmosphere. “As the planning went along we sort of came up with Gatsby Garden Party,” says Ash. The wide beautiful lawns at Barrister’s were the perfect setting for long tables, minimally decorated with greenery and lemons! “It added to the summery, Italian riviera vibe, and as a bonus, saved us money on flowers!” says Locky. Big props too go to Ash’s grandma, who lovingly hand-embroidered each guest’s initials on the serviettes. “These became the place card as well as bonbonniere for the guests,” says Ash. Suppliers had a huge impact on Ash and Locky’s day. “We found our photographer Dave Pascoe through Love Cherish Adore. He did a great job of mustering a big bridal party, keeping us focused and getting great shots,” says Ash. Flowers from Viva Flowers in the Barossa and family friend Jayne Kelly who officiated the day were other suppliers who were amazing for the couple to work with.
