Roxanne and Gareth’s wedding on the Fleurieu Peninsula can only be described as quintessentially Australian and for that reason alone we couldn’t love it any more.
We were super excited when these photos by Kerry Rose Photography arrived in our inbox as they capture a day that we’d been waiting to see. A while ago (although it seems like 5 minutes ago!) Bride to be Roxanne had been looking for a venue for some time and despite visiting a multitude of venues, the connection she and hubbie to be Gareth were looking for in a space just wasn’t there. So, Roxanne got in contact with us via Facebook and once she described what she was looking for, we instantly knew the right place for them at Brooklyn Farm near Myponga.
‘Gareth and I love everything about South Australia, in particular, the countryside and beaches – oh and wine of course! The majestic 800 year old plus gumtrees embedded into the creek, the custom built cottage and the old stone barn all surrounded by beautiful native flora and fauna just knocked our socks off at Brooklyn Farm. We’re so grateful to LCA for helping us find our perfect venue!’ says Roxanne.
As they reflect back on a day they’ll never forget, Roxanne has some great planning advice to give. ‘Remember it’s yours and your fiancé’s wedding. Not your parents, not your siblings, not your best friends. So it should be about you both, and what makes you both happy. Be realistic about your budget too as it’s so easy to get swept up in the little things, but these can be costly. Borrow what you can, and remember, no one is going to notice if you forget to put your cake topper on (just like we forgot!). Incorporate your little quirks, play the songs you both love, even if no one knows them, and get a damn good photographer and videographer because you’ll rely on their skills more than your own memory.’
