Monica & Chris

If you’re waiting for your partner to propose to you then listen to what this bride has to say!

Having already been a couple for over 9 and a half years, many of their friends and family were putting a bit of light-hearted pressure on groom Chris to pop the question, ‘We had always discussed about how important we thought it was for people to live with each other before deciding to get married. After that, our family and friends kept hounding him about when he would propose – bad idea guys!! He said to me he didn’t want it to look like he was proposing just because everyone else wanted him to. So I advise everyone to stop pressuring couples to get married, you could actually be responsible for delaying the proposal!’ said Monica.

Knowing that popular vendors get booked up quickly and to enjoy every second of being engaged,  they sensibly allowed 18 months to arrange their big day. Having scoured Pinterest and putting together a colour scheme, the loved-up pair booked Laura from Minty Mary Pea to bring their ideas to life which included plenty of flowers and greenery mixed with brass and glass decanters.

Although as a couple they both shy away from being the centre of attention, their best moment was seeing each other for the first time that day during the ceremony. ‘We were both so nervous. I think we were so caught up in the excitement that we momentarily forgot about everyone around us,’ said the bride.

Now the big day is over how do they feel about being married?  Not much different! ‘Being married, for me at least, feels pretty much the same as it did before we were married as we were always committed to one another. But it means a lot to us that we could celebrate our love with our close friends and families and is an important milestone that we wanted to experience.’

There’s heaps of big day feels and inspiration in this beautiful wedding which was captured by Blush & Mint Photography.
