At the top of a couple’s tick list for a perfect ceremony location is privacy and secluded gardens can be often hard to find. It’s also refreshing to come across some thing new to the wedding scene that isn’t yet well known.
At the top of a hill at Marino with stunning sea views in Adelaide is a stunning lush green, rustic and quirky garden offering pockets of places and nooks to explore with a myriad of photo opportunities. Welcome to the Looking Glass Garden.
This garden has been known to the organisation Open Gardens Australia for some time and has hosted many open days and will continue to do so. It is also however a boutique wedding and event venue offering something very new and exciting.
Perfect as a place to host a ceremony, it’s also large enough to host a small wedding reception for up to around 50 people with catering options also available along with entertainment.
Local business Brighton Pianos have often delivered baby grand pianos to the garden to set the scene. Now that’s my personal idea of wedding perfection (little known fact that I can play the piano!)
The garden is set within the owner Loris’ home which is a 3 story property with different level balconies providing stunning views across the bay and is home from home for a Bride looking to get ready at the property. Loris has previously provided breakfast or lunch for Brides on the private balcony of the guest room which is a tranquil space to get ready before the ceremony.
The decking and arbour in situ provide the perfect aisle and after the cermony while photographs are being taken there’s plenty of places for guests to explore and mingle. With the previous owners of the property being French there’s even an authentic petanque area for lawn games. After this, guests can stay for a cocktail style reception and enjoy the ambience of the garden as the sun sets and the garden transforms with candles and soft lighting. So very unique and romantic, this garden is a must if you’re looking for a different kind of wedding venue.
