Maybe you’re looking into starting a business in the wedding industry or perhaps you’re established but looking for some direction in certain areas? If this is you then the creative business workshop may be just what you’re looking for!
Having established Love Cherish Adore 3 years ago having had previous experience of the industry back in the UK, we’ve been through a huge journey [involving a few bumps in the road!] to take us to where we are now. Publishing our new magazine certainly takes what was a very small business to the next level so we’re living by the mantra that complacency is devastating…… We already know that we’ve got to put our all into the new direction that this is taking us using the skills we’ve developed along the way.
These skills aren’t necessarily those that a one stop shop course can deliver so we, along with some friends would like to share some baseline business knowledge with you.
We’ve honed in on some of the aspects of running a business in the wedding industry to create a 2 day workshop that will help your business stand out from the crowd. Whether you want to do one or both days is entirely up to you….
The workshops are held at one of our fave venues Marybank Weddings. Set amongst peaceful countryside yet only 15 mins from the City it’s the perfect setting to learn a few new tricks.
The workshop dates are Wednesday 26th October and Thursday 27th October from 10am – 3.30pm and a light lunch and refreshments are included.
We’ll begin with a presentation by Rene from The Vintage Bride Boutique and Blush and Mint Photography around social media and how to use it effectively. We say effectively because it’s a huge part of making your business sing out from the crowd so if you’re not doing it right, you’re wasting valuable time. Drilling into your target market means understanding their needs to ensure your message is heard and understood.
We then move on to marketing fundamentals and branding. Giving your business a consistent identity is a successful way of making your business get the right kind of exposure.
Lastly, we cover smart phone photography and how to take better photos for your social media, blogging and website because at the end of the day, your online presence is your shop window and that all important first impression.
The nitty gritty of running a business involves both legal and financial implications that need to be complied with. Whilst it sounds a bit boring and uncreative, it’s important that your terms and conditions and bookkeeping are in top top shape. We begin with a presentation from Clare Jobson from CJ Legal around terms and conditions and consumer rights along with what happens when you find yourself in a situation where there’s a breach of contract.

We’ve then lined up Natasha from Tashly Consulting to talk about finance like bookkeeping, tax and cashflow.
After lunch business etiquette expert Alana from Etiquette for Success will present on effective communication and customer service strategies which will strengthen relationships with your clients.
