Bec & Adam

Sometimes it’s the middle of the night when our best ideas come into our head and Adam wasted no time in jumping out of bed to propose to his now wife Bec.

‘Adam wasn’t sleeping well and got up in the middle of the night and didn’t come back to bed. By
5 am, he clearly had been up all night thinking about it and came into the bedroom woke me up and
burst into a monologue with ‘marry me okay!’ Of course, I said yes but it did amuse me
that he had come to this realisation in the middle of the night and he just had to get it out there. We
decided to get married as soon as practically possible and with Christmas 6 months away and my
parents visiting from the UK, we settled on that’ said Bec.

When it came to inspiration for their day, it was a place they regularly visit with their dogs that was their perfect wedding venue. ‘Nature never goes out of fashion and we wanted a timeless look to our wedding. So, the forest was the ideal spot with ‘the magic tree.’

Keeping everything exactly how they wanted it to reflect them both as a couple, it was their ceremony and their vows specifically that was by far their favourite memory from the day. ‘Adam is a writer and I knew they would blow me away but nothing could have prepared me to hear him share his beautiful words. While he is a wordsmith and I am not, he listened so intently to what I wanted to say the whole moment was perfect.’

They also have plenty of praise for their photographer Tim Day – especially since they weren’t even going to have a photographer at all!  ‘Tim is an absolute pro. I really hate having my picture taken so he really took the pressure off. Originally I didn’t want a photographer because I hate having my picture taken so much but I soon realised I would want the memories. As soon as we saw his work we wanted him. He understood my dislike of being in front of the camera and kept it as relaxed as possible and posing to a minimum. With the skills of a Chameleon he blended into our wedding like any other guest and I can honestly say I never noticed him taking any pictures from that point on. He clearly did though as soon after the wedding he presented us with over 600 beautifully captured moments and so much enthusiasm for our big day he wanted to do it all over again.’

And amongst all the amazing photos Tim captured there was one shot we didn’t get to see…. ‘My auntie has some questionable dance moves and at one point she was laying on her back, arms and legs in the air resembling a dead ant. There’s always one!’ Bec said.
